“They nearly blew the roof off the joint with their energetic, highly charged roots-rock assault.”

Cody Beebe & The Crooks are a 5-piece Roots Rock band from Seattle, WA.  Formed in February of 2009, the group combines Beebe’s aggressively percussive guitar style with the diverse musical experience of a strikingly creative and cultured band. Cody Beebe & The Crooks blend rock, blues, jazz, and country with an artistic integrity that is intriguing and unforgettable, often referred to as progressive Americana by the band members themselves  (think Steve Earle meets Pink Floyd).

Their first collective offering, “Friends of the Old Mill,” was recorded at Seattle’s London Bridge Studio in 2010 with legendary producer and engineer Jonathan Plum (Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, Blind Melon, Candlebox, Queensryche).  The band’s philosophy in recording the album was to convey the dynamic energy of their live performances while maintaining a stylish, polished sound.  Tracked to analog tape and mixed on London Bridge Studio’s vintage analog console, “Friends of the Old Mill” is an excellent display of the band’s timeless, honest approach to writing, recording, and performing their music.

Since the release of “Friends of the Old Mill,” Cody Beebe & The Crooks have been touring relentlessly, setting out on three national tours, covering 30 states, playing a number festivals and fairs from Washington to New York.  Promoting their single “Waiting On You,” they reached an amazing #60 in the Triple A Radio charts, a feet that hasn’t been accomplished by an independent band in a number of years.  They have also shared the stage with the likes of Buddy Guy, Stevie Nicks, Jimmie Vaughan, KD Lang, Augustana, Josh Turner, Little River Band, Jason Reeves, Randy Rogers Band, Rooney, Afroman, Ari Hest, Drew Davis Band, This Providence, Tonic, Handful of Luvin’, and Massy Ferguson.

“It’s great to hear young guys making music like this.”
