Crooked Hippy Slop..
Joe raking some leaves at the Sterns/Fortner residence in Selah,WA
Being in a local band that, like other aspiring artists, is striving to make a name for ourselves, we have a few struggles of our own. Although some may call us hippy music lovers and some call us starving artists; none of us truly know what it is like to starve and, God forbid, never will. With all of the sacrifices that come along with being in a band, eating well is something we do our best to hold on to.
Living in a house of seven, there is a constant flow of leftovers in plastic containers. And although sometimes a few of those containers get pushed to a dark corner of the fridge to be forgotten about and grow an unintentional garden of fungi, we do our best not to let any food go to waste.
We get pretty creative with our Hippy Slop Creations! Just the other day I combined lentils, quinoa, and butternut squash into a mash of nutritional greatness! To eat well on a budget you have to get creative and know what nutrients you are receiving from the food you eat. One thing is for sure, we are giving our bodies the right nutrients they need to help us perform all of those live shows.
